Let’s jump into why branding is *so important* f Let’s jump into why branding is *so important* for your business (and your clients). 💕 Branding is your promise to your customers! 💕 Your brand is how your customers perceive you and your business. It needs to convey how you solve problems for your customers. Your brand differentiates you from your competitors. Consumers are not only looking at your logo, colors, website, packaging, promotional pieces, marketing materials but also your voice, tone, and formality. Every bit of you and your business that touches your clients is part of your brand. Your goal is to build strong brand equity. Brand equity is the piece of the puzzle that takes your brand from where it is and positions you as the premier purchase or the premier business that your audience wants to move forward with. 💕 Follow these quick tips for strong branding--> ✨ Be consistent! Stick to your colors and use that logo whenever you can. ✨ Determine what qualities you want your target audience to associate with you. ✨ Keep a sticky note by your computer to remind yourself of the tone of voice you want to use in your content. ✨ Create templates for your emails, Pinterest, social media, etc. (using your colors, fonts, formality, voice/tone). Remember, if branding isn't your forte, don't be afraid to hire the job out. It's such an important foundation to your business! 🤔 (I don't personally do branding for my clients!) Thought leadership is super hot in the marketing w Thought leadership is super hot in the marketing world right now. 🔥 Social media allows someone to show their audience that they are an expert in their field! Social media increases brand awareness, grows revenue (think sales campaigns), generates new leads, and drives traffic to a website. I like to make out an action plan for my client's social media. This is broken down into two parts. The first is proactive social media planning. This is any social media content you can plan for. (i.e. a weekly topic trend, post calendar, etc.) The second piece is reactive social media planning. This is the engagement piece of social media. Examples include responding to a complaint on a Facebook page, customer service, and engagement through comments. ✨ Proactive ---> We might spend the first two weeks creating a client's social media account or auditing their current one. Then, we are going to spend another two weeks building posts for the next month of content. Next, we are actually launching the posts and putting them out for the world to see. ✨ Reactive ----> Now, we are going to build in our reactive strategy. We want to identify key people you want to forge relationships with. These might be people we see as experts and want to emulate. Determine who those people are and start interacting with them on a regular basis. By commenting on their content, you can provide value and knowledge to their audience and gain eyes on your work and develop thought leadership. Are you going to do this for your client or do they have to? You may not be able to talk the talk about content in their field. You may have to allocate this work to your client because, well, they are the expert in their field. Maybe you need to screen share with your client for 30 minutes a week and show them what reactive social media strategy looks like. I have had a super “blah” couple of months. J I have had a super “blah” couple of months. Just not really feeling like doing much of anything. This week I have finally felt a surge of energy, and I am trying to ride this wave 🌊. I am over here getting dressed and actually doing my hair each day, putting ClickUp into place, creating SOPs, cleaning up my email inbox, doing some light hiring (trying to get some of my looming tasks checked off my to-do list), and I am even considering going to the gym after my workday is complete. Where is my gold star?! 🌟 Sometimes we just need to take care of ourselves, but that doesn’t need to mean you take a break. Sometimes taking care of yourself means cleaning up loose ends, streamlining your systems, taking care of ourselves and our surroundings. When we take care of ourselves we are better able to take care of those around us (our significant others, our children, our clients, and our network). ✨ Do something for yourself today, and I don’t mean sit down and binge Netflix, I mean declutter your office, set-out a few outfits for the week or prep tonights dinner. Do something that is going to help catapult you into a state of getting things done! 🚀 You’ve got this! 💕
I use a framework to help simplify the daunting ta I use a framework to help simplify the daunting task of analyzing a new client’s situation and I am excited to share it with you! It is called the 5 C’s which stand for company, competitors, customers, collaborators, and climate. All of this info helps you to be able to best market the company’s products or services. Let’s dive right in! 👇🏼 1️⃣ Company. Who are they? What do they do? What is their why? What products or services do they sell? How are their products or content consumed? You should already have a good understanding here, but verify what you have found out through your own research by talking about it with your client. 2️⃣ Competitors. Don’t be too surface level here! Have you ever heard of opportunity cost? If I am choosing delivery pizza from Domino’s for dinner, my direct competitors are Papa Johns, Pizza Hut, etc. But you also need to look at your clients' indirect competitors. You know who this could be? Delivery Chinese food. 3️⃣ Customers. You really want to get a strong idea of their target audience. What are their demographics? What do they like? What do they dislike? What are their beliefs? What makes them tick? What do they value? What are their pain points? 4️⃣ Collaborators. Who are the members of their team? Get to know who is involved in their business besides their own employees. Do they work with any vendors or consultants? Who has the final decision-making power? 5️⃣ Climate. What does the current market for their product look like? Are politics or environmental situations playing into their climate? Here’s a new question that has been added to my kick-off process... how has the pandemic affected or changed their business? What are your processes when you first start onboarding a new client?
